Terms of Use
Short version: Quotzy is free, you may use it on any Mac you own, supporting the project is optional and buys nothing, and the app is supplied as it is.
1. Who provides Quotzy
SZYBURSKI.COM – Dariusz Szyburski, sole trader registered in CEIDG
ul. Wspólna 5/1, 05-084 Leszno, Poland
NIP (VAT ID): PL9671247519
Email: hi@quotzy.xyz (the "Provider", "we", "us")
2. Quotzy is free
The App is free in full: the menu bar reading, the widget, every update and every window it tracks. There is no trial period, no paid tier and no feature held back for one.
Support through Buy Me a Coffee is a voluntary contribution, not a purchase. It buys no licence, no feature, no support commitment and no priority. Section 8 covers it.
3. What the App is
Quotzy is a menu bar utility for macOS. It reads the credentials that the Claude Code and Codex command line tools have already stored on your Mac and displays your own usage limits.
You need a Mac running a supported version of macOS, an internet connection, and an existing working login to at least one supported provider. Quotzy is a companion tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI or Apple, and their product names are used only to describe compatibility.
4. Your licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide licence, unlimited in time and free of charge, to install and use the App for your own purposes, private or professional, on any computer you own or control.
You may not: sell, rent or sublicense the App; redistribute modified copies; present it as your own work; remove ownership notices; or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where such acts cannot lawfully be prohibited, in particular under Articles 74–75 of the Polish Act on Copyright and Related Rights and Directive 2009/24/EC.
All intellectual property rights in the App, its source code, name, robot character and visual assets remain with the Provider.
5. Supplied as it is
Because the App is supplied free of charge, it comes as it is, with no warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
This is not a way of dodging responsibility for real faults. If something is broken, tell us at hi@quotzy.xyz and we will look at it. It simply means there is no contractual service level attached to software you did not pay for. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Polish law, in particular for damage caused intentionally.
6. Updates and availability
We may publish updates, change how the App works, or stop maintaining it entirely. We will try to give reasonable notice before withdrawing it, but a free project carries no guarantee of continued availability. A copy you have already downloaded keeps working under this licence for as long as it runs on your system.
7. Things outside our control
Quotzy reads data that third-party providers expose. Those providers may change their interfaces, limits, plans or login mechanisms at any time, and some features may stop working until the App is adapted. We will make reasonable efforts to adapt it, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted compatibility.
Usage figures come from your provider and are shown for information only. We do not guarantee they are complete, current, or free of the provider's own errors. Do not rely on Quotzy as the sole basis for decisions with financial consequences.
8. Voluntary support
Contributions are handled by Buy Me a Coffee, which hosts the payment page and processes the payment. Your receipt comes from them and their terms govern the transaction itself.
A contribution is a gift. It creates no contract for the supply of software, no obligation on our part, and no right to a refund from us, although you may of course raise any payment problem with Buy Me a Coffee or with us and we will help where we can.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for damage caused intentionally, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Consumer rights that apply regardless of price are not affected.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential damage arising from use of the App.
10. Disputes
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of that country.
We would much rather solve a problem by email than by lawyer, so please write first. If that fails, consumers in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, and consumers in Poland may also approach the municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or UOKiK. For anyone who is not a consumer, the courts having jurisdiction over the Provider's registered address are competent.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms for future downloads. The version published at the moment you downloaded the App is the one that applies to that copy. Changes never reduce rights you have already acquired.
12. Final provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force. Matters not covered here are governed by Polish law, in particular the Civil Code and the Act on Copyright and Related Rights.
A note on this document. It has been drafted to reflect how Quotzy is actually distributed, as free software with optional voluntary support, and to align with Polish and EU law. It is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before relying on it, especially if the distribution model changes.
